A History of Excellence
Since 1982, Webber Painting has provided Central Virginia’s finest interior and exterior residential painting services
For nearly 40 years, Greg Webber, the founder of Webber Painting, has been honing his craft and teaching the art of residential painting to his crews. He started his business in 1982, using “old school” methods for preparing, painting, and restoring the surfaces of old estate homes in Albemarle County and around Charlottesville, VA. His first company truck? A 1977 beat-up Datsun pick up—it held two ladders.
Now, Webber Painting has grown into a 6-team (and still growing) contracting company that provides a host of services in addition to painting. Greg’s customers were pleased with their finishes then and they have been impressed by their experiences with Webber Painting ever since. His crews our trustworthy, clean, and courteous, and especially, talented at what they do.
Over the years, Greg has constructed a methodology for success. Each team is headed up by a crew chief, who trained under Greg, and each team member then trains in their specific duties from their crew chief. Greg, or his partner, Lewis Wagner, provide the job estimates and make regular visits to the job site, ensuring a continuity of professional standards. Additional team members work in the warehouse in Ivy, VA, where some of the work is completed in the “shop.”
Despite the evolution and changes in the company, at least two things remain the same: Webber’s classic technique for prepping and applying pigment to surfaces and the company’s pride in achieving the highest standards in residential paint application.

A Fun Fact About Webber Painting
Montpelier Restoration.
Because of Webber Painting’s experience in painting historic homes in Central Virginia, the company was selected to prepare all of the interior surfaces for the restoration of one of America’s better-known homes, the residence of President James Madison, Montpelier, a project which lasted about 4 years and all of the paints used for the final coats were mixed by hand and applied using a technique from the 1700s. Webber Painting did the exteriors of both the Mansion and the Train Station as well as all of the prepping and priming for all of the rooms. You can read and watch more about this project here.
