Residential Painting

Interior and exterior for homes big and small

Webber Painting has painted small bungalows in downtown Belmont and large estates in the countryside, including one lived in by a past US President. In fact, our work has been accomplished all over the Charlottesville and Central Virginia areas. While every finishing project is different, certain aspects of these painting projects remain the same. Webber Painting focuses on three important components to every painting project:

  • “Old School” methods for preparing surfaces for proper paint adhesion

  • High quality paints

  • Expertly trained painters

Our work is extensive, and often times, amounts to much more than just painting—our typical paint projects involve much more than what your average painting companies will provide. Our exterior services include replacing rotten wood, for example, siding, trim, and railings, and in some cases using a 4-part restoration epoxy for rotten areas. Webber Painting replaces rotten wood decking prior to staining. We also include pressure washing before painting although typically we are not hired for just pressure washing. Shutters are removed and spray painted in our warehouse shop, and when needed, we will replace rusty or broken hardware.

For interiors, in addition to our regular services, which are presented below, we offer kitchen “Face Lifts” by revitalizing existing cabinets and adding custom counter tops and back splashes. On some projects, we have also adding molding to these refinished cabinets. In addition, we can improve the physical appearance of rooms by adding interior trim, crown molding, chair rail, and door frames.

Feel free to investigate our methods for success below, or watch our video, each of which explains all about our work and our process.

A Classic Approach to Preparing Surfaces

Prep is critical for paint adhesion

Webber Painting has known since its first projects that there is nothing more important the properly preparing surfaces for paint or stain. A properly prepared surface will not only allow for the use of higher quality products but it will create a noticeable difference to the overall presentation of the room.

Here are some of the stages of preparing a surface for paint adhesion for Interiors of Homes—

  • Hand sanding

  • Tacking surface with a tack cloth

  • Removing old caulk and re-caulking

  • Removing old glazing and reglazing wood windows

  • Priming

  • Hand sanding and tacking again

Here are some of the stages of preparing a surface for paint adhesion for Exteriors of Homes—

  • Hand sanding

  • Pressure Washing

  • Siding Restoration and/or replacement

  • Reparing rotten decking using an epoxy process before staining

  • Removing old caulk and re-caulking

  • Removing old glazing and reglazing wood windows

  • Priming

In addition to preparing surfaces, Webber Painting teams work to prepare safe guard homes and furnishings against any potential damage from paint or dust.

The Finest Paints and Stains on the Market

After Preparing the Surface, we work with the best

If the surface has NOT been prepped properly, the paint is going to show “everything you didn’t do right.” This statement has been a guiding mantra for Webber Painting since its inception. There are products on the market which will conceal mistakes, which sometimes allow for a more inexpensive job. But Webber Painting does not use these types of paints. “We like to use products that will highlight mistakes if surfaces weren’t prepped properly,” says our Founder. And if in the rare case there is a mistake? Well, we will fix it before we leave.

Here are some of the products we like to use—

  • Benjamin Moore Aura

  • Sherwin Williams Emerald Exterior

  • Farrow & Ball

  • Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane trim paint

  • Fine Paints of Europe

  • Epifanes varnish

Color Consultation

Webber Painting will assist you or your interior designer in your selection of paint brand, type, and color. Additionally, as opposed to painting small swatches of color onto your walls for selection, Webber Painting will prepare at their warehouse large foam core sample boards with your preselections so that they can be moved easily from room to room and without adding paint unnecessarily to your interior or exterior surfaces.

Dedicated and Expert Painting Teams

Trained and Supervised Expertise

All of our employees are like family, and if there is such a thing as a family that was born to paint, well, then it is our family. We like to think that there is a reason we have been able to continue growing our business in this small community called Charlottesville for 35 years, and that reason is consistency in our service and final product. This consistency is achieved through Webber Painting’s organizational structure and leadership.

Each paint project is estimated and quoted by a Webber Painting partner—that is, either Lewis Wagner or Greg Webber. Teams are assisgned and remain with a project until it is completed. During the project phases, either Lewis or Greg will visit to inspect the work and meetings with Team supervisors are conducted daily. All of the supervisors trained underneath Greg Webber himself and these supervisors then train their teams in specific techniques to be used on each project.

A lot of people think painting is just a matter of dipping a brush and sliding it along a surface. But to achieve the results Webber Painting has achieved has required much more. Quality painting is an art form which is learned and then practiced, over and again. It’s an art to prepare the surfaces properly; it’s an art to apply the paint; and lastly, it is an art to deliver this highest level of customer service.

This process and organization have provided consistent results and customer satisfaction for over 35 years.
